Intro to Tap For All Ages Community Class
Whether you’ve tap danced before or have always wanted to give it a try, this class is for you! Open to all ages and abilities, the class is for anyone interested in movement and rhythm. Bring your tap shoes and water. If you don’t have tap shoes you are still welcome to take class - just bring yourself and friends or family you love to dance and learn with. ALL can participate in the power of creating rhythm.
Emily Shoemaker, Artistic Director of the NC Youth Tap Ensemble, will lead the class and introduce the basics of tap dance and rhythm in an inclusive, supportive, and joyful environment. Come tap, move, and make some music with your feet! (No tap shoes required.)
NCYTE led Community Jam
A curated space with live music to explore rhythm, create, and dance in community. This tap jam is open to dancers of all ages, levels and abilities, and will be led by Emily Shoemaker, Artistic Director of the NC Youth Tap Ensemble.
Emily will help guide the jam, support dancers of all experience levels, and encourage growth, creativity, and collaboration between dancers and musicians. Never attended a tap dance jam before? This is the perfect opportunity to try something new in a fun, non-competitive environment.
Come jam, make music, or simply listen, watch, and learn. Whether you’re a seasoned tap dancer or stepping into a jam for the first time, there is space for you at this jam.
